Martha's Table Global Passport: ATL

On Tuesday, April 15th the Black Coffee Company and Black Coffee CEED Foundation were honored to host 24 brilliant students from Washington, D.C.'s Ward 8 community as a part of the Martha’s Table Global Passport Program.

The afternoon kicked off with lunch at Chivers Dining Hall at Morehouse. Then Clark Atlanta, Morehouse and Spelman student ambassadors shared what college life is really like on campus.

The students wrapped up their day with a tour and fireside chat at Black Coffee Company's Morehouse campus location with Black Coffee Company COO, Ayron, and CEO, Jamin. Ayron and Jamin hosted a lively conversation with the students about what it takes to build something from the ground up.

With many already considering creating their own businesses in the future, the students weren't just interested—they were excited about both college life AND entrepreneurship. They came ready to learn, ask questions, and dream big. Melissa, our CEED Board Member and Director of Partnerships, served as chaperone and described it as something truly unique and engaging for the students.

This wasn't just about learning the secret to the Cash Money Matcha, one of Black Coffee Company's signature lattes and a fan favorite on the Morehouse campus. This was about seeing entrepreneurship in action, understanding how a Black-owned business is creating community and opportunity right on an HBCU campus. And perhaps most importantly, the students got to see themselves in every part of that picture: as college students, as entrepreneurs and as community builders.

Real Talk: Entrepeneurship

A conversation with Black Coffee Company CEO - Jamin, COO - Ayron and college student workers, gave Martha's Table Global Passport students direct access to business owners and the thriving ecosystem they've created around their company.

This event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of three dedicated organizations:

  • Martha's Table and their Global Passport Program, which creates domestic and international travel opportunities for Washington DC youth to expand their horizons

  • Black Coffee Company, which continues to use their business as a platform for community building and youth empowerment

  • Black Coffee CEED Foundation, working to create economic opportunities and pathways to financial freedom

Martha's Table frequently brings their Global Passport Program to Atlanta, and we're looking forward to making this a long-standing partnership. Because every young person deserves to see themselves thriving as entrepreneurs, succeeding in college, and creating the futures they dream about.
